Nick Lloyd had just picked up wife Amanda in from work in Nottingham on Tuesday night at 7pm and was travelling home on the A52.

The 52-year-old had to swerve out of the way of the pensioner after noticing a reflection coming off the back of her scooter as she rode in the left lane in the pitch black.

'I was heading down Clifton Boulevard, just crossing the bridge, and driving in the left lane,' he said.

After processing what had happened, passenger Amanda Lloyd, 50, who works for the government, frantically grabbed her mobile and called Nottinghamshire Police.
