A man who managed to swindle $980,000 in tax refunds after filling in his own tax returns may now face fraud charges.
Ramon Christopher Blanchett, 29, from Tampa, Florida, electronically submitted a number of W-2 forms in February 2017 where he listed his occupation as 'freelancer'.
Despite only earning $2,098, one of the forms showed he had acquired $17,098 in wages and that $1 million of his federal income tax had been withheld.
