A newlywed husband killed in high speed police chase wrote a Valentine's Day card to his pregnant wife before he died.

Patrick McDonagh and his wife Shauna were killed on the A40 in west London on Sunday after their Renault Megane went on the wrong side of the road and smashed into a coach.

In the poignant Valentine's card, Patrick wrote in the card to the pregnant teenager 'To my gorgeous wife...my heart belongs to you.'

The card was found at a shrine to the couple on the A40 among other tributes including pink teddy bears for their unborn daughter, who was due on Valentine's Day.

Mr McDonagh lived in two bedroom flat with his wife and up to 13 other people until two months ago.

His sister Bridgie Mongan posted a heartfelt message on Facebook saying: 'Why God? Why is life so cruel.'

The message was accompanied by four broken hearts and a tearful emoji.
