West Virginia woman who was fired from non-profit after calling Michelle Obama an ape in racist Facebook post, pleads GUILTY to defrauding FEMA of $18K in flood relief Pamela Ramsey Taylor, 57, falsely registered for FEMA benefits that were meant for those who were impacted by the June 2016 floods that killed 20 people The Clay County woman pleaded guilty to defrauding FEMA of more than $18000 on Monday Taylor had been falsely claiming that her primary residence was damaged in the flood and that she was living in a rental property In the plea agreement, Taylor explained that she registered with FEMA around July 2016 while at Clay County High School  Her plea deal dictates that she must pay restitution of $18,149.04 and she also faces up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000 She will be sentenced on May 30 by U.S. District Judge Irene C. Berger The woman called Michelle Obama an ape in a November 2016 Facebook post after President Donald Trump won the election

Pamela Ramsey Taylor, the woman who made headlines in 2016 after she made a racist Facebook post about then-First Lady Michelle Obama, pleaded guilty on Monday to defrauding the Federal Emergency Management Agency. 

The 57-year-old Clay County woman falsely registered for FEMA benefits that were meant for those who were impacted by the June 2016 floods that killed 20 people along the Elk River. 

She managed to snatch up more than $18,000, according to the Charleston Gazette-Mail.
