Luke Newman, from Silver Dove Funerals in Sumner, Queensland, uploaded the video after personally experiencing the devastating ripple effect that suicide causes. 'I wanted to put a call out to anyone and everyone who might be experiencing a really hard time at the moment, who may be in that dark place - please listen to me now,' Mr Newman says in the video. 'Your self-worth is not defined by others' opinion of you. Suicide is a very permanent solution to a very temporary time in life. Please pick up the phone and get the help that you want and you need.' Although Mr Newman cited a recent story of an American woman who coerced her boyfriend into committing suicide, he also shared a story that was much closer to home for him. Talking to the Gold Coast Bulletin, Mr Newman, who has worked in the funeral industry since he was a teenager, told of the anguish he feels when burying those who have ended their lives too early. In particular, the one occasion he had to bury a nine-year-old boy who had taken his own life. 'Just being there at the funeral and preparing him for his funeral - as a funeral director, you need to know what part of this is work and what part is your heart.' 'Even weeks after, it was playing on my emotions. I was getting sad. You just have to think what was going through that young boy's mind that he thought this was the only way out of it,' he added. Mr Newman's (pictured) video has been met with praise online with his work place being flooded with positive messages on Facebook Mr Newman, who also has suffered from depression, said he wanted to make the video in hope it could make a difference.
