A polo-playing ex -public schoolboy charged with murdering three pensioners has been accused of attacking two other men in the same week.

Alexander Lewis-Ranwell, originally from Croyde, north Devon, is accused of murdering Anthony Payne, 80, and twins Richard and Roger Carter, 84, between February 10 and 12.

Lewis-Ranwell, 27, is also accused of grievous bodily harm with intent after John Ellis was found suffering serious injuries in Barnstaple on February 9 and Stasys Belevicius was discovered in a similar condition in Exeter on February 11.
