Shocked teenager, 16, discovers Yubo app user has stolen her Instagram snaps ...

A teenager has revealed how her social media snaps were 'catfished' and then photoshopped to make her look fat.

Jodie Thorpe, from Glasgow, was appalled to discover her Instagram snaps had been used by someone else on a teenage 'befriending' app called Yubo.

Even worse, Jodie, 16, had been 'fatboothed' to make her look overweight in all six images.

Jodie was alerted by a friend who spotted the stolen and manipulated images on Yubo.

A friend of Jodie's, Jenna Morrison, also 16 and from Glasgow, took to Twitter on Wednesday to share what had happened.

She captioned the post: 'Someone has taken Jodie's pictures and is pretending to be her on a dating app, but they've also photoshopped them so she's fat in them all.

'What's that all about hahahaha buckled.'

She also commented below the post with a phrase summarising the incident, saying 'catfished and fatboothed.'

The video which shows the slideshow of pictures has racked up more than 230,000 views.

It initially shows the message Jodie received from the boy from her school who spotted the catfish.

He said: 'Hi, don't know if you know this or not but you're on this app called Yubo and it looks like someone has just took screenshots and used them, just in case you didn't know.'
