Elaine Augusto, from Dee Why on Sydney's Northern Beaches, admitted to putting three grams of the drug into a small resealable plastic bag then placing it into the jar. The business student from Brazil, who is studying in Australia on a bridging visa, was arrested outside the festival in Glenworth Valley, north of Sydney on December 29. Police say festival goers are becoming more creative when it comes to sneaking drugs into events, with contraband even found stuffed into a barbecue chicken and aerosol containers. Augusto pleaded guilty to one count of possessing a prohibited drug at Manly Local Court. The 33-year-old's solicitor Luana Torres told the court her client bought the psychedelic drug months before she was arrested, the Manly Daily reported. 'My client was in shock. It was the first time she had been arrested,' Ms Torres said. 'She is extremely embarrassed about appearing before court today.' Magistrate Christopher Longley told Augusto she could have been jailed for up to two years. No conviction was recorded and Augusto was released on a Conditional Release Order that she be of good behaviour for six months. Augusto was told to 'be warned' by Mr Longley as she left the court. Brisbane Waters Police District Commander Acting Superintendent Rod Peet said festival-goers weren't carrying drugs in their pockets anymore because 'they aren't that careless'. 'We have found drugs in aerosol containers and other items. In one instance, the drugs were in a stuffed barbecue chicken,' he said. 'We tried to insulate the festival as best we could and I think we've done a good job at that. Unfortunately some of those drugs got through, and unfortunately some of those drugs have had fatal consequences,' Supt Peet said.
