A former Mexican cartel boss, who was found guilty of the assassination of a U.S. Drug Enforcement Agent, will be spending the rest of his sentence behind bars instead of at home under house arrest despite health problems.
A court in Mexico City ruled that Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo will not be receiving a 'get-out-of-jail-card' and will remain at the Big Bridge [Puente Grande] medium security penitentiary in Jalisco until his 37-year sentence comes to an end.
The 73-year-old former drug kingpin, who was once hailed as the 'Boss of all Bosses', was seeking home confinement due to his hearing and vision problems.
According to Infobae, Gallardo had lost between 50 to 70 percent of his hearing.
