A court in Mexico City ruled that Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo will not be receiving a 'get-out-of-jail-card' and will remain at the Big Bridge [Puente Grande] medium security penitentiary in Jalisco until his 37-year sentence comes to an end. The 73-year-old former drug kingpin, who was once hailed as the 'Boss of all Bosses', was seeking home confinement due to his hearing and vision problems. According to Infobae, Gallardo had lost between 50 to 70 percent of his hearing. Gallardo's cartel dominated the marijuana growth and shipping routes into the United States before his organization connected with the Cali Cartel and Pablo Escobar's Medellin Cartel and enriched itself through the trafficking of cocaine. The body of DEA agent Enrique Camarena was flown in a casket from Mexico to an Air Force base in California a month after he was abducted and killed by the Guadalajara Cartel Camarena's body, along with the pilot's, were found a month later showing signs of torture. Gallardo has been in prison since 1989. Gallardo, who was also known as 'The Godfather', ruled over an organization that included a couple of individuals that would turn out to be key figures in the international drug trade business.
