Cyber chiefs at the UK’s spy headquarters say Chinese tech giant Huawei has not produced a ‘credible plan’ to address security concerns.

Dr Ian Levy, technical director of GCHQ’s cyber arm, said the firm had declared its ‘intent’ to deal with the problems – but it has not yet explained how it will do so.

‘Last year we said we found some worrying engineering and security issues,’ he said yesterday.

‘As of today, we have not seen a credible plan. That’s the reality of the situation unfortunately.’
