Katharine McPhee has implied that US Senator Bernie Sanders should not run for president again in 2020.
Sanders announced that he would again seek the Democratic nomination for president in 2020 on Tuesday morning, joining a crowded field.
McPhee took the swipe at Sanders over Twitter, with a subtle nod to her own experience coming in second place on American Idol.
Sanders also finished second to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Democratic primary.
McPhee joined actor Mark Ruffalo and comedian Stephen Colbert in reacting to the news of his candidacy.
