An alleged drunk driver who crashed into another car, killing a woman, on his way to buy cocaine has been charged with vehicular homicide, police say.

David Strowhouer, 31, of Newtown, Pennsylvania, who has a history of drink driving, was driving under a suspended license with five earlier DUI convictions before the fatal crash on Saturday night, according to WPVI.

Strowhouer drove his Dodge Ram into oncoming traffic when he collided head-on with another vehicle in Upper Chichester Township, Pennsylvania.

Deana Eckman, 45, was killed in the crash, while her husband Chris, the driver, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Strowhouer initially told police that his cousin was driving because he was too intoxicated to driver after drinking all day following his mother's funeral,

The two, he claimed, were coming from a bar where their family members had gathered when they decided to drive to Chester, Pennsylvania to buy cocaine, according to Philly.com.

Investigators would find that the alleged cousin Strowhouer blamed for the accident was in Puerto Rico at the time of the crash, and Strowhouer's brother and video footage placed him behind the wheel.
