The nickname was mentioned in a post game wrap up posted to Facebook after a match in Perth's northern suburbs. '(Child's name) was an absolute trooper all day and despite his size, he was as brave a kid as I've ever seen and took out the huge ... 3rd baseman 'Shrek' at home plate with a massive tag. Love ya work,' the rival coach wrote. The Perth tee ball club has since deleted the post and the coach of the team has apologised and resigned The boy's mother Bianca said she was told about the post by parents at another club. The mother said she knew they were specifically referring to him as they mentioned the position he played. 'I don't understand how someone would want someone like that in their club (or) for that to be on their page, she told Radio 6PR. The mother of the 10-year-old boy said it reflected badly not just on the coach but the club that allowed the man to post the nickname to social media 'I just don't understand why a man in his 40s, 50s, who is a mentor to a team of 10, 11-year-olds is bullying children on social media.' The tee ball club has since deleted the post and have said the president of the club said the coach has apologised and resigned from the position. She has said her son isn't currently aware of the post and is trying to protect him from the situation. The mother also said said she will be making a complaint to WA's Tee Ball Association. The association's president Diane Mount-Bryson said they’re taking the issue very seriously and will not condone this kind of behaviour.
