Breathtaking flocks of starlings have been spotted shimmering through the skies of southern England.
While an individual bird flying alone would go unnoticed, a swarm of starlings creates the incredible illusion of a single black mass weaving through the air.
This mesmerised onlookers who filmed the birds and took to social media to share their sightings.
