A service station worker was forced to hand over cigarettes and cash when brazen robbers stormed the store wielding knives and a machete.

The terrifying armed robbery - believed to be linked to a second robbery - occurred at a service station in Mackenzie, south-east Brisbane, at about 8.40pm on Friday.   

Two brazen thieves entered the service station and threatened the shop assistant with a knife.
