A gangster's hoard of designer trainers has been sold at auction for almost £5,000 after he was jailed for six years for shooting at a car containing rival gang members.

Isaiah 'Twinkle Toes' Hanson-Frost agreed to hand over his 56 pairs of designer trainers worth £18,500 to Gloucestershire Police to help foot the bill for the fight against crime.

Police believed that the trainers including brands such as Christian Louboutin and Louis Vuitton, were bought from the proceeds of his drug-related offences.

Six hundred bidders registered to take part in an online auction in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire yesterday, where the trainers, worth close to £1,000 a pair, were snapped up.

The 23-year-old had a fascination for designer trainees and his collection of top designer labels was found at his home when he was arrested.

Hanson-Frost, of Gloucester, had earned his 'Twinkle-Toes' nickname due to his small feet - UK size 6 - and his trainer obsession.

At Gloucester Crown Court last year he agreed to hand over the shoes to the police in return for the prosecution dropping proceedings under the Criminal Property Act.
