Police comb through a field close to where murdered mother-of-four Linda Razzell

Police are searching a field close to where murdered mother Linda Razzell went missing 17 years ago.

She was last seen on March 19, 2002, in Swindon, Wiltshire after driving to work at a college and her mobile phone was found dumped in a nearby alleyway. 

In 2003, her estranged husband Glyn Razzell was jailed for life for the murder of Linda, 41. 

The search is taking place less than half-a-mile from Mrs Razzell's former home in Pentylands Close after police were given a tip-off by members of the public.

The mother-of-four's body has never been found and Mr Razzell, a former insurance investment manager continues to protest his innocence from prison.

Today a blue forensic tent was erected in a field near Pentylands Lane, in Highworth, Swindon, Wiltshire.

The search is taking place less than half-a-mile from Mrs Razzell's former home in Pentylands Close.

Wiltshire Police say detectives are keeping 'an open mind' as to whether the search is connected with
