Declan Marshall, 28, reportedly attacked fellow Brit Emma Higginson in Turkey after meeting her at a night club

Declan Marshall, 28, reportedly attacked fellow Brit Emma Higginson in Turkey after meeting her at a night club

A British holidaymaker accused of a terrifying assault on a woman who refused to have sex with him has returned to Britain after being freed from prison.

Emma Higginson, 35, from Kent, was left 'barely recognisable' with a fractured skull, eye socket and nose after the attack at a hotel in Icmeler last September.

Emma said she was attacked by 28-year-old car salesman Declan Marshall after meeting him in a nightclub earlier that evening.

Marshall spent five months in prison but was understood to be in Stoke last night.

His lawyer successfully argued he should be allowed to await his fate at home while the prosecution gathers more evidence, according to The Sun.

Emma told the newspaper: 'I still have the physical and mental scars from the attack and I'm having regular hospital and dental appointments plus counselling.

'He nearly killed me and I'm in constant pain.
