Beloved nurse who was found in a pool of blood with mysterious head injuries ...

A Queensland nurse who was found in a pool of blood in her driveway with mysterious head injuries has died in hospital. 

Lisa Davey, 37, died at Gold Coast University Hospital on Friday, one day after neighbours discovered her unconscious body next to her car.  

Her death was particularly traumatic for the hospital staff, who knew her professionally and had worked to save her life, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported.

A statement from the hospital said the popular nurse who was revered for her loving and caring attitude.  

'Gold Coast Health joins with the family and friends of Lisa Davey in mourning her loss, and we offer our heartfelt sympathies to all who knew and loved her,' the statement read.  

Originally from Dunoon, in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Ms Davey moved to the Gold Coast from Cairns several years ago to be closer to her family. 

When her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she dedicated her time to being her personal carer and stayed with her until she died late last year.

'She put her whole world on hold, while caring for her mum,' her aunt, Janelle Brown, told the publication. 

After the death of her mum, the 37-year-old had planned to move back to Cairns and was in the process of packing up her car when she was found unconscious last week.
