A former NRL and State of Origin player has been charged with assault and breaching and apprehended violence order after an alleged incident with his partner.
Ken McGuinness, 43, who represented NSW in the State of Origin in 1997 and 1998, before retiring from the game 2002, was arrested in south west Sydney on Saturday night at 10.30pm after reports a woman was allegedly assaulted.
'At about 10:30 last night police were called to a home in Raby after a 43-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted,' a police statement said.

'An investigation into the incident commenced and a 43-year-old man was arrested'.
Mr McGuinness was taken to the Campbell Town police station where he was charged with assault
