A New Zealand mother has shared heartbreaking footage of her distressed children traumatised by a creepy online character which is terrifying youngsters worldwide.

Caiarama Ashby sat down with her five-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son on Wednesday after becoming aware of Momo, a female character from an evil suicide game ordering children to harm or even kill themselves.

Her little boy had already come across the game dubbed the Momo challenge while watching YouTube videos on his friend's phone at school. 

The Auckland mum recorded the upsetting and confronting discussion with her youngsters, who both burst into tears at the mention of Momo.

Her son begged his mum to move house or relocate to another country after Momo threatened to kill their parents if he and friends stopped watching the video.

‘Stop saying her name, we’re going to be killed!,' the distraught boy pleads with his mum in the footage.

'I thought she was coming in real life to kill us.' 

His little sister added: 'It's scaring
