The white-knuckle ride named Yukon Striker at Canada's Wonderland in Vaughan, Ontario, just outside of Toronto, will open on May 3, 2019. The dive rollercoaster will begin at a height of 223 feet above the park, holding riders on one of three wide, floor-less trains, for a full three seconds before taking a 90-degree drop, 245 feet down into an underwater mining shaft. The Yukon Striker begins with a slow climb to the top of the first drop which is 223 feet tall After hanging above the 90-degree drop for three seconds, the coaster will take you down 245 feet, more than the height of the coaster itself as you drop beneath the surface of the pond It will then follow the 3,625 feet of track for three minutes and 25 seconds, propelling riders through four dynamic inversions and a 360-degree loop – touted as a first for a dive coaster by the theme park. The new thrill ride was designed by Bolliger & Mabillard, who say the Yukon Striker will claim several world records when it opens. The current fastest, longest and tallest dive rollercoaster, also built by Bolliger & Mabillard, is the Valravn at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Ohio reaching speeds of 75mph, a height of 214 feet and a track length of 3,415 feet. Construction on this soon-to-be record breaker began in January of 2018 with the last bit of track installed just this month. The drop will take you into a mineshaft to add to the thrill of the dizzying drop Construction of the attraction began in January 2018 and will be open to the public in May Share or comment on this article: All rights reserved for this news site dailymail and under his responsibility
