A vigilante cyclist who captures motorists' illegal road offences on camera and uploads them to YouTube now has the police using his videos to fine drivers.

Michael Vissar, 31, from Brisbane, records motorists cutting him off, overtaking him while failing to give him space and merging into the bike lane.

To accompany each video, he also outlines the registration of the car, the number plate and even a description of the driver's appearance.

Brisbane police have taken to Mr Vissar's YouTube channel to identify the drivers and fine them.

Mr Vissar began recording his 5km commute to and from work in 2017 after moving back to Australia from Europe and noticing the recklessness of some drivers.

'Living in Denmark, I rode everywhere on a bike - without a helmet too - and then when I came back to Australia, I found something had seriously changed in society,' he told Daily Mail Australia.

'All road users, we've just stopped caring,' he added.

In one of Mr Vissar's videos, a car is seen pulling out into traffic and crossing into the bike line just as the cyclist is approaching an intersection.

A shocked Mr Vissar can be heard shouting as he almost crashes into the back of the car.
