A boy who was found dead on the side of the road hours after celebrating his 15th birthday may have been killed in a hit-and-run, police said on Friday.

Braydon Worldon's body was found in Wantabadgery in the Riverina region of New South Wales in December 2018. 

Police had initially believed Braydon had fallen off his friend's ute near Wagga Wagga.

However, police have now revealed a new theory in which they believe Braydon was a victim of a hit-and-run. 

They believe the keen fisherman was hit by a truck with a bull bar.
