The male student had been called to the school's office but rebuffed an administrator's attempts to take him in. When the school's resource officer tried to take the student to the office himself, the student threw punches in protest. All the while students in the lunchroom are heard shouting and yelling, shocked with the fight. The two went back in forth throwing punches as the students in the cafeteria screamed with shock Finally the officer calmed down the student by grabbing a hold of his arms. The student faces felony charges of obstruction of justice by force and assault on a law enforcement officer The student keeps throwing punches until the officer grabs a hold of both of his arms and another administrator is seen approaching. Video of the fight has gone viral, racking up over 100,000 views on World Star. The officer 'defended himself while taking the student into custody,' according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's office. After the fight the deputy was taken to a hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The student refused medical treatment and instead was taken to the Loudoun Juvenile Detention Center. 'Earlier today, our SRO was assaulted by a Dominion High School student. The assault occurred during lunch in the cafeteria. Many of our students witnessed it. Because this matter involves possible action by law enforcement, I cannot offer further details. I am reaching out to ask you to remind your student to be respectful of school staff at all times,' the statement said.
