Stoke City fan Oliver Marshall, 18, collapsed at his family home and died after being rushed to hospital in the early hours of Tuesday morning
The grieving parents of an 18-year-old Stoke City fan are waiting for answers after their son's shock death.
Stoke-on-Trent College student Oliver Marshall was pronounced dead in hospital after frantic friends called paramedics to the family's home.
His parents - David and Kay Marshall - found out their son had died while they were on holiday in Cumbria. He also leaves behind his older brother Ben.
Both Mr Marshall and Oliver worked on the turnstiles at Stoke City FC.
Mr Marshall, aged 46, said: 'We were away on holiday and I noticed I'd had a missed call on my phone at around 5.30am. I rang it back and it was the police who said Oliver had passed away.
'He was at home enjoying himself with his friends. They attempted CPR and called an ambulance.
'He went to hospital at around 3am but he died there and me and my wife Kay drove straight home that morning.'
Mr Marshall added: 'We both used to have season tickets at Stoke and he started working on the turnstiles last season. I decided to join him this season and we both worked there together.
'He loved everything about Stoke City, he'd go to every match and he followed them for most of his life. He loved football, he played for Cheadle SMU until he was 17. He was football mad.
