This is the shocking moment a kitesurfer is left needing 18 stitches after being mauled by a pit bull off the coast of Argentina. 

Footage filmed on Gustavo Cervino's camera, off the coast of Punta Rasa, in San Clemente del Tuyu, shows the canine head straight for the kitesurfer as he glides across the water.

The raging dog then leaps into the air and sinks its teeth into Mr Cervino's upper arm before he manages to wrestle the animal off.
