Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in a Cheshire village .

Police on Saturday said officers were called to reports a boy had been stabbed in the village of Hale Barns, near Altrincham, at about 6.40pm.

The 17-year-old boy was rushed to hospital, but later died, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said.

His family have been informed and officers are currently with them offering support, the force also confirmed.
