The dash-cam footage, captured on the M62, close to the Rocket junction, Liverpool, shows the cyclist riding pedalling across all three lanes of the motorway before arriving at the hard shoulder. During the bizarre incident on March 1, cars were heard screeching as drivers slammed their brakes and tried to avoid the dangerous road user. The cyclist then looks behind him and realises the danger he has placed himself in. It is not yet known if there was anyone inside his child carrier. Lorry driver Joe's dash cam captured the dangerous scenes. The 24-year-old, from Norris Green, said: 'I saw the cyclist at the start of the M62 and I just thought he was going to turn off somewhere. 'It's shocking, to be honest. That part of the motorway usually has cars speeding up so fast. 'One lapse of concentration and he could have been killed. 'Motorists regularly go in excess of 70mph at that point. 'I'm not sure if he did realise he'd made a mistake, you'd like to think so. 'I've never seen anything like that in my life.' Under the Highway Code rule 253, a bike is listed as a prohibited vehicle and it is illegal for people to cycle on a motorway.
