And now Liz Truss has become the latest top Tory to be accused of giving herself a nickname as the rivalry for UK politics’ top job intensifies.
The Chief Secretary to the Treasury has been accused of referring to herself in the third person as ‘the Truss’ while speaking to colleagues, according to the Times.
It came after rivals of Home Secretary Sajid Javid, a leading contender to be the next prime minister, claimed in January that he referred to himself as ‘the Sajid’.
