Former Footy Show host Sam Newman has landed himself in hot water after he posted a 'disrespectful' video of himself dressed in drag.
The 73-year-old uploaded the clip to Twitter on Monday, appearing alongside renowned AFL journalist Mike Sheahan and former St. Kilda coach Grant Thomas.
Sporting a white hat, scarf, red lipstick and heavy blush, Newman revealed in jest he had decided to transition to a woman.
'I think I've run my race as an older male, and I'm thinking of transitioning,' he said in the video.
'I think I could feel comforted by being an older female, and it'll work well because my partner is thinking of turning herself into a boy… It doesn't change we're still man and woman.'
Sheahan joined in on the charade and jokingly questioned if Newman would compete at the Olympics.
'I'm going to clean up on world titles as a woman... an older woman,' Newman said.
Newman's critics were anything but amused with his antics.
Transgender footy player Hannah Mouncey slammed the video and labelled Newman an 'embarrassment and a fool'.
'For someone who says he learned something after how he spoke about Caitlyn Jenner on TV, there are no words. Just accept it and don't try and talk your way out of it this time,' Mouncey tweeted.
Hawthorn champion Russell Greene's daughter Angie Greene labelled him a 'bully'.

'I thought after our conversation last year that you may have left with an ounce of respect towards The Trans Community and human beings in general,' Ms Greene tweeted.
Yet another said: 'Absolutely disgusting and just adds fuel to the fire in directing transphobia.'
