A six-month-old boy was killed on Tuesday after police in North Carolina say he was mauled by his babysitter's dog.
Jacari Long, of Lexington, was in the living room at his caretaker's home in the 700 block of Winston Road in Salisbury at around 2.30pm when she went outside to clean out the backseat of her car so that she and the baby could leave.
The woman, who has not been named, said while she was outside she heard her mother scream, rushed back inside and found her boxer-pit bull mix attacking baby Jacari.
