Rescuers tried to reason with the suicidal man before he made a sign of the holy cross and stretched his arms out. Cell phone video footage captured the moment Doniacuo then leaps off the crane and crashed to the ground. Doniacuo was pronounced dead at the scene. 'I have made the determination to commit suicide to free my wife and family of suffering... for the charges that have been filed against myself,' he wrote. Doniacuo had allegedly beaten a former friend in August 2018 because he claimed the victim has betrayed him and was talking behind his back, according Argentine news site Debe Leer.
