Highway workers today responded to reports of a wooden shed dangling off the side of the Ouse Bridge in East Yorkshire. Incredible footage from a passing car shows the flimsy structure moving in the high winds on the westbound side of the M62. Only supposed to blow the bleeding doors away! An entire shed, though heavily damaged, is seen teetering off the side of a bridge on the M62 motorway near Howden Drivers are seen moving out of coned-off lanes on the major river crossing to avoid debris surrounding the structure. One shocked passenger can be heard saying 'oh my god' as their car goes past the unusual obstacle. On the other side of the low metal railings the wooden structure is seen resting on is a 30 metre (98ft) drop to certain destruction. Approaching westbound, drivers move out of the inside lanes as the strange sight of a shed blown onto the railings of the Ouse Bridge comes into view. The incident caused a build up of traffic as highway workers attempted to secure the structure It is believed the shed was blown off its transporter early this morning and was left hanging over the parapet. Traffic and travel service Inrix reported: One lane blocked and very slow traffic due to debris on road and shed load of a Porta Cabin on M62 Ouse Bridge Westbound from J37 A614 (Howden) to J36 A614 Rawcliffe Road (Goole). Humberside Police tweeted to advise motorists that there was a problem between junctions 37 to 36. The roof of the flimsy structure flutters in the wind. High winds closed the Humber Bridge to high-sided vehicles earlier today, while other traffic was restricted to a 30mph speed limit. PC Darren Kirkwood from Hull tweeted: 'The Humber Bridge is CLOSED to High-Sided and Vulnerable vehicles due to strong winds' The police officer later tweeted to say he seen an elderly person 'straight off their feet' and that they were being treated by paramedics.
