Surveillance footage captures little Nicholas Wanes, from Pompano Beach, getting locked inside the box after it automatically closed with him inside. His fingers be seen through the gap before the cooler locks and he can no longer push it open from the inside. Moments later his mom Maria and dad Robert can be seen running into the room after hearing his muffled screams. For a few seconds they are not able to work out where their son is. They eventually realize he is inside the cooler and are able to free him after unlocking it from the outside. Nicholas Wanes can be seen getting inside the cooler on the patio of his home in Pompano Beach. He pulls down the lid of the trunk to play a game of hide and seek The youngster crawls inside the box after spending the day on the water with his family But he ends up getting locked inside the box after it automatically closed with him inside His panicked parents hearing screaming and come running to help their young son but can't locate him. When they eventually find him little Nicholas jumps into his mom's arms A terrified Nicholas immediately jumps into his mother's arms after spending more than two minutes inside the trunk. He said: 'I wanted to play hide-and-go-seek. But I found a not-good hiding spot inside the cooler. I was really scared.'
