A man has been arrested over the fatal shooting of a Melbourne man who is believed to have predicted his own death on Snapchat.

The 22-year-old from Dandenong was arrested about 11.20am on Monday in relation to the alleged shooting that occurred in Springvale at 11.50pm on Sunday. 

Emergency responders arrived at Springvale Road following reports of a single gunshot, but were unable to revive the man. 

The victim, who is yet to be identified, died at the scene.
