The Trumps touch down! The President, First Lady, their children and ...

President Donald Trump returned from South Florida on Sunday afternoon after spending the weekend at his Sunshine State retreat of Mar-a-Lago, playing golf and raising money for a second term in the White House.

Mr Trump managed to raise millions of dollars from one of his first major fundraising efforts this year for his 2020 re-election bid.

Trump managed to pull in $7 million from GOP donors over the course of two events held at his private members club at Mar-a-Lago, the Republican National Committee said Sunday.

The fundraisers donated money to Trump Victory, a joint fundraising group that comprises of Trump’s re-election campaign and the Republican National Committee.

The President also gave a speech at the Sunday event, which GOP officials said they expected 475 people to attend. Around 300 people were at the Friday night fundraiser according to the Sun Sentinel.

Many of the top contributions came from business executives in the state including sugar magnate Florida Crystals, developer GL Homes and fast-food chain Wendy’s.

Campaign records show that the President's personal campaign ended 2018 with $19 million on-hand - a number which will surely increase as his re-election campaign moves into high gear.
