A mother-of-one who slashed a shopkeeper across the neck with a broken bottle and stole wine from his shop has been jailed for five years.

Aimee Bennett, 28, was caught launching the savage attack on Jurijus Ivanovas on CCTV on August 21 last year.

She went into the Red Rose off licence in Oldham, Greater Manchester, with an unknown man, before getting into an argument with Mr Ivanovas.

Bennett, who used to work in a care home for the elderly, can then be seen punching and kicking her victim before launching at him with a smashed bottle.

Mr Ivanovas claims he has lost 90 per cent of his hearing as a result of the attack and suffers regular headaches.

Bennett was jailed at Minshull Crown Court and sobbed in the dock as she pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent and theft.

Her suspected male accomplice is still on the run.

In CCTV footage shown to the court room, her accomplice can be seen arguing with Mr Ivanovas, and then the two enter into a brawl.

They can be seen rolling around on the floor as Bennett intervenes to defend the unnamed man.

During the scuffle, wine bottles are broken and Bennett picks one up and begins to jab the shopkeeper with it. The accomplice can also be seen smashing a bottle over the victim's back.
