Marco Rubio is being criticized for a number of tweets he has posted over the past few days about the increasingly fraught situation in Venezuela.

The most glaring of these came on Sunday, when he confused a reporter on the ground in the South American country with an actual dam.

'Today another transformer explosion at the German Dam in Bolivar State caused another massive blackout,' wrote Rubio.

'The result? Critically ill patients have died, the #Caracas metro remains out of service & few if any flights have arrived at or departed from Caracas in over 20 hours.'
