The British UFC fan whose iPhone was allegedly smashed and stamped on by Conor McGregor outside of a Miami nightclub was left 'very shaken' by the confrontation, according to his brother.

Ahmed Abdirzak, 22, works at his father's Somalian restaurant in Southall, London and was in Miami on a week-long holiday when he spotted the controversial MMA superstar and 'tried to take a photo of him' outside the famous Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel.

McGregor was allegedly infuriated when he saw the phone, with surveillance footage showing him appearing to slap it out of the fan's hand before stomping on it several times.

Mr Abdirzak's brother Noah, 17, has now revealed that the victim is a fan of McGregor's and watches his fights on TV.

The revelation comes as McGregor posted a cryptic comment on social media following his arrest.

Younger brother Noah revealed he had spoken to Mr Abdirzak and told the MailOnline: 'He's very shaken. Very upset.

'He's a fan of McGregor's. He watches his fights on TV. That's why he tried to take a picture of him.'

Noah added that he wasn't sure if his elder brother had asked the Irishman's permission before taking the photo.

Mr Abdirzak's father Mahamad, meanwhile, has slammed McGregor, telling MailOnline: ‘What McGregor did is exactly in his character. He’s an angry man.

‘I’m not a fan of his at all. I prefer Khabib (Nurmagomedov). He’s the fighter I like to watch, not McGregor.’

Mr Abdirzak is due back in Britain on Thursday and his brother hopes that the clash with the MMA star won't affect the rest of his holiday.
