House Speaker Paul Ryan has issued a warning that Republicans could lose the 2020 election if the race gets defined as a referendum on President Trump's 'personality.'
Ryan, who Trump has partly blamed for the failure of repealing Obamacare and other matters, drew immediate pushback from the president's eldest son, Donald Trump. Jr., who hit back at the 'failed' 2012 vice presidential candidate.
'The person who defines that race is going to win the race. If this is about Donald Trump and his personality, he isn't going to win it,' said Ryan, whose speakership was dominated by headlines of the times he either criticized – or failed to criticize, –Trump.
