Axed Footy Show host Sam Newman has revealed his podcast series will be put on ice after he dressed in drag and copped heated backlash for the stunt.
The controversial 73-year-old took to Twitter on Tuesday night to make the shock announcement to his followers.
'If you're wondering where the Sam, Mike and Thomo podcast has gone, it has been summarily suspended, as a result of me dressing as a woman,' Newman said in a video.
Newman had launched the podcast series alongside AFL alumni Grant Thomas and Mike Sheahan last year.

While the trio had developed a cult following for the series, they were forced to put the 49-episode-long series on hold following Newman's recent stunt dressed as a woman.
Newman came under fire after he uploaded a clip of himself sporting lipstick and heavy makeup to his social media, saying he was 'thinking of transitioning' so he could compete in the Olympics as a female.
