A man accused of killing his girlfriend allegedly put her body in the boot of his car and drove to a shopping centre before dumping it.

Samah Baker, 30, was last seen after she was dropped off by a friend at her Parramatta home, in Sydney's west, in the early hours of January 4.

Her on-and-off lover James Hachem, 32, has been charged with her murder. His lawyer Warwick Korn said Mr Hachem will defend the charge.

Ms Baker disappeared on January 4, along with her two mobile phones, and her Facebook account was used at a time police have alleged she was dead. 

Police have alleged that Mr Hachem put Ms Baker's body in the boot of his car after killing her and drove her to several locations across Sydney on January 4.

Mr Hachem allegedly bought cleaning products at a store in Hurstville before returning home.

He then allegedly drove to a rural area that night with rubbish bags in the car and disposed of her body there.

Mr Hachem told police investigators that the last time he saw her she was watching a Netflix television
