Mosque massacre hero who tried to wrestle gun from shooter before he was killed is immortalised in a touching mural A mural has been painted for a hero who died in the Christchurch mosque attack Father Naeem Rashid wrestled with the shooter in an attempt to disarm him  He died in hospital just hours later from wounds relating to the shooting  Tragically Naeem's  21-year-old son Talha was also killed in the brutal massacre

The hero who tried to wrestle the gun from the Christchurch mosque shooter's hands before he was killed has been immortalised in a mural.

Naeem Rashid died in hospital from wounds related to the shooting at Al Noor mosque on Friday. 

The father tried to save other worshippers by launching himself at alleged gunman,  28-year-old Australian man Brenton Tarrant, in an attempt to disarm him.

Kiwi artist Paul Walsh has since commemorated Mr Rashid in an enormous mural on display in Auckland, on New Zealand's north island.
