A man was arrested for attempted murder after he allegedly drove a stolen car into a 24-hour gym in Los Angeles.

The vehicle smashed through glass at the front entrance of a Crunch Fitness in the 12800 block of Valley View Avenue in La Mirada at about 2 am, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.  

Witnesses described hearing the revving of an engine and seeing a man get out of the car, Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez said.

Footage of the incident shows an employee scrambling to get out of the way seconds before the Honda sedan comes barreling into the building.

The car then smashes through the front counter and extensive damage was done to the gym floor. 

Police found the driver in his own car about two miles from the scene and took him into custody, the Sheriff's Department said. He was later identified as Sergio Reyes, 32, from
