Ibn Collins, a 39-year-old from Linden, New Jersey, was allegedly intoxicated when he mowed down Meghan Crilly as she and three friends crossed an intersection in the early hours of January 20. Authorities allege Collins has spent the past two months quietly patching up his Jeep in his garage, in a bid to destroy the evidence and evade justice. Authorities allege Collins has spent the past two months quietly patching up his Jeep in his garage, in a bid to destroy the evidence and evade justice Collins reportedly 'did not slow down or stop,' following the crash, and instead headed back to his auto body shop in Westfield, where he hid the Grand Cherokee and ordered replacement parts over a two month period. It is alleged he explained the damage as having hit a deer. Detectives were able to trace the Jeep's battered bumper found at a salvage yard in Pennsauken, NJ, about 70 miles from the scene of the crash, officals said. The alleged hit-and-run driver was arrested at home last night, and charged with manslaughter and evidence tampering. He faces up to 30 years in prison.
