Tory MPs last night reacted with fury to Theresa May's attempt to blame Parliament for the Brexit impasse.
They condemned the Prime Minister for saying that the public wanted MPs to get on with it but Parliament had 'done everything possible to avoid making a choice'.
Her speech was labelled 'toxic' – while one MP even suggested it could incite attacks on parliamentarians. Others added that it lacked any significant update for the public.
Sam Gyimah, who resigned from the Cabinet over Mrs May's deal in November, said: 'Resorting to the "blame game" as the PM is doing is a low blow. All part of her strategy to run down the clock and rule out other options. Toxic.'
