An iconic scene from classic cartoon Watership Down has been played out in real life - as a hare appears to be leaning over to listen to a bird.

The unlikely companions were caught on camera by wildlife photographer Natasha Weyers, 43, in Hampshire - the same county where the original novel and film were set, last Friday

Ms Weyers, from Romsey, Hampshire, captured the moment showing a hare stands on its hind legs and leaning over as if to listen the pheasant by whispering in its ear as if they are friends.

Her photograph mimics an iconic scene from the 1978 film, when the rabbits befriend a seagull and concoct a plan with it to help them escape their enemy.
