Nebraksa men find a fridge full of ice cold beers after day of flood clean up

Two Nebraksa men were stunned to find a fridge full of ice cold beers after spending hours cleaning up flood damage to their home.

Kyle Simpson spent Sunday cleaning out his damaged property on the Platte River with the help of his friend Gayland Stouffer.

The pair were waist-high floodwater trying to make it the mile back to their car after a full day of hard labor.

But when Stouffer spotted the fridge full of beer abandoned and covered in debris the friends could not believe their luck.

Simpson told the Lincoln Star Journal: 'He says, "Hey, this is a refrigerator". And he opens it up and says, "It’s full of beer". I said, "Yeah, right". And he reaches in and says "It’s ice-cold".

'It was a gift sent from the heavens, and we were happy to see it. But we hoped the people who lost the fridge were OK, we hoped their property was OK.

'We’ve been there a long time, we’ve been through floods, and this one by far is the worst.'
